Don't Die A Copy
Be True To Yourself
Full Name; Charles Irving Bartowski
Nickname(s) Chuck
Gender; Male
Age; 28
Face Claim; Zachary Levi
Your Past Is Catching Up With You
Personality; Chuck is a nice guy caught in a cruel world. He’s intelligent – went to Stanford on scholarship – and personable. Overall, his honesty and integrity are deeply important to him. He struggles to maintain those principles in his spy life, but it’s difficult when he has to deceive everyone he loves, including his sister, his best friend, and his father (for a time). Chuck is a responsible man, willing to own up when he’s screwed something up, and he’s willing to do almost anything – usually alone – to make it right again.
Chuck’s family and friends are extremely important to him, even to the point where he would die for his sister. He has frequently disobeyed orders when they could have endangered his friends. Unfortunately, it's easy to use his affable and trusting nature against him; he can be manipulated. Chuck is a caring, sensitive, funny guy – the type girls always say they want, but never go for.
Chuck is a problem-solver, and very, very good with all kinds of technology (and the creator of a rather nasty computer virus which they used to call the “Bartowski Special” back at Stanford). He’s very observant and can tackle almost any type of puzzle. However, he’s prone to making very obvious statements when he’s nervous or in shock: “Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh…you’re not dead…” Chuck is also an avid gamer, taking time out for such staples as Gears of War, Call of Duty, and Halo. Outside of video games, he has a fondness for sci-fi movies like Tron and Dune. He also has a crippling phobia of needles. In short, he's a genius; a tortured genius, but a genius nonetheless.
Appearance; Chuck is tall and lanky, about 6'1", with a grin that makes you want to give him all your pudding, immediately. He looks a little awkwardly storklike, but normal for all that, with a mop of curly brown hair and brown eyes glittering with good humor. He has some muscle tone, but isn't ripped. It wouldn't be inconceivable to guess that he knows how to take care of himself in a fight; that much is apparent by the way he walks, the way his eyes dart around.
He has a horrible poker face - emotions just show up on it, whether he likes it or not, so if he's surprised, you can tell. Despite that, he's a good liar. He dresses normally, in casual shirts and jeans - nothing like some of the people here. He's never without his black Converses...or, for the more punnily inclined, his Chucks.
History; Chuck Bartowski has lived in California his entire life; he was born and raised in Encino. Around his entry into fifth grade, his mother left them, rendering his father Stephen “never really there” and eternally preoccupied. Stephen left his children when Chuck was in high school, leaving his college-age sister Ellie to take care of him.
Chuck entered Stanford University in 1999, a scholarship student, and met Bryce Larkin, a fellow freshman – soon to be his best friend. They both were recruited to the CIA in college and graduated with honors. The two best friends completed their training together and were sent on missions; Chuck was based in Los Angeles while Bryce was based out of DC. Chuck fell in love with Bryce's partner, a brilliant field agent named Sarah Walker.
Unfortunately, Bryce went missing while on assignment and Sarah became Chuck's new partner, along with an NSA agent named John Casey. They began to search for Bryce on their own, and thought they had found some intel about him in the Willowcreek area. They tried to act as 'normal' as possible, but something gave Chuck away as not having been injected with the serum. Sarah and Casey had to watch as he was dragged off to be injected so as not to blow their cover. He fought, mostly trying to get away from the needle, but they held him down and managed to inject him. All the serum did was make him incredibly sick, and they locked him up in Willowcreek.
His people might come for him if they get the go-ahead...and even if they don't. In the meantime, he's going to try everything he can to get the word out and escape.
Presumed Diagnosis; Straight-up delusional; paranoia
