Personality When you think of the stereotypical Japanese Lolita girl most think of the bubbly personality, though shy at the same time. That’s a start on how to describe Tink, which is really the only name he gives people.
He’s very kind hearted and easily gets along with others, girls more-so than boys, and would give you the shirt on his back if you needed it. He’s very friendly, often seeking out those who seem to need a friend, but he’s also very shy when he’s in one of his moods.
He loves to sing, having a very feminine voice that people describe as soothing. He is also a pretty decent artist, having nearly perfected the art of anime/manga humans and anthros.
He loves to spend time doing his hair, nails, and makeup even doing it for the other girls on his ward (due to his vulnerability and response to males, he’s been given special permission to live in the girls area of the teen ward). He loves to write, and regularly can be found writing in both English and Japanese kanji, being fluent in both.
He adores animals, especially cats and rabbits. He loves to take care of them, feeling like he’s needed makes him very happy.
Tink does have a few downfalls. For one, he’s scared to death of boys, panicking and getting really upset if approached by one, to the point female orderlies are the only ones allowed to touch him (it reminds him too much of his past). Secondly, he has flashbacks and will become very violent in his sleep. Thirdly, he is prone to bouts of depression that people usually don’t notice because he hides it well, this can result in people not knowing until he’s bottomed out.
Finally, he is very child-like. No one knows what caused it, perhaps he’s clinging to a time when he felt the least judgment? But he loves to wear very frilly clothes, play with dolls, color in coloring books, read childrens books, have ‘tea parties’, and even sleeps with a stuffed animal (a cat) named Beru, due to the bell it has on the ears. He’ll even run around with clip-in cat ears sometimes.
AppearanceWhen you first look at Tink you’d automatically assume you’re coming face-to-face with an adorable little Japanese Lolita girl. And unless you saw him naked, you’d never know that the adorable little Asian girl was actually a boy.
Tink, as he is called since he’s so petite and pixie-like, is never seen in boy’s clothes. Ever. No exceptions. He hasn’t worn boy’s clothes since he was twelve. He is typically seen in skirts with leggings or tights, “Lolita” dresses of many styles, or jeans and tees. Always with a cute pair of Converse or Loli shoes. His favorite outfit is a black drop-waist black dress with three layers of ruffles on the bottom that’s adored with a black and pink bow and bells, layered over a white puff sleeve tee and white puffy petticoat with knee high black and pink striped socks and Lolita shoes. With that he wears a Lolita ‘nurse’ hat that’s black and white polka dotted with a bow to match his dress attached. This paired with a pair of arm warmers that are black with grommets and fluffy bottom pieces.
Another reason Tink is easily confused with a girl is his gorgeous hair. He was born with his Japanese father’s mane of black coal hair but ever since he was four his mother’s regularly gotten it dyed because she couldn’t deal with his getting constantly picked on. He has always worn his hair very shaggy, growing it out to the length it’s at now around age twelve (after the hormone replacements for two years against his father’s wishes). He keeps his hair constantly fixed pretty and it is very soft to the touch.
His eyes were inherited from his American mother. He was born with very bright, cerulean colored blue eyes. Always framed by eyelashes he was told ‘Women would die for’. His eyes never changed as most babies do, and he has continued to have them his entire life. He always wears mascara and eyeliner to make them pop.
He has a very Asian facial shape. His eyes are semi-almond shaped but he got his mother’s full lips. He’s built lean and very petite. On a good day he might be 5’3”. He has no fat on his bones, though no muscle either. He’s been described as ‘pixie-like’ which is why his close friends nicknamed him Tink (not to mention the Tink costume he wore one year for Halloween). He’s not gone by anything else since age twelve.
Overall, he’s a very feminine looking thing, small and baby-doll looking.
History
Tink was born to Kinomoto Yoshiro, a successful Japanese businessman and Dixie Mae Jackson, a former Southern beauty queen. Tink was the youngest born of three children as well as the only male. His next-in-age sister, Nori Mae, was eighteen months older than he, the oldest, Arisu Lynne, was eighteen months older than Nori Mae. So he was used as a living, breathing baby doll for the earliest years of his life.
Tink was born a mess, he had quite a bit of hair, the same coal black as his father’s but with almond-shaped blue eyes. Growing up he was picked on and made fun of a lot for looking very ‘Asian’ living in the armpit of the south. At the age of four, after much bullying from other kids, his mother took and dyed his hair a bright bleach blonde, hoping to help him fit in. He was always very small and that made him a target, especially with how feminine he was.
Oh yes, from the earliest his mother can remember Tink wanted to be a girl. He wanted to wear dresses, play with baby dolls, wear girl Pull-Ups, have bows in his hair, the whole nine. He excluded himself from the other boys, preferring the company of girls.
By his first year of middle school he hadn’t a friend in the world other than his sisters. His dad’s job relocated them back to Tokyo where he flourished in the Lolita and Harajuku groups. One evening during his second year of middle school, a high school boy offered to walk him home from a school event they were at. The boy told Tink he needed to pick something up from his apartment and asked Tink to wait inside for him.
The boy finally called to Tink to bring him a pack of cigarettes from down stairs so he could smoke while he looked for the disc he needed for class Tink carried the cigarettes upstairs and nearly fainted when he saw the boy shirtless digging through a dresser drawer. The boy turned around to see Tink standing there, bright red in the face. He began to laugh and stood upright. He asked Tink ‘haven’t you ever seen a guy shirtless before?’ and Tink responded with ‘Not one as beautiful as you.’ After he realized what he said he dropped the cigarettes and ran home as fast as he could, not allowing himself to think about how flustered he got around the older boy.
The next afternoon the same boy was waiting outside of the middle school and asked Tink to talk to him. Tink really didn’t want to, but stopped when he heard the boy say ‘You’re not a bad person because of what you feel.’ Tink turned around and the boy asked if they could go somewhere and talk. They were both silent on the way to the local fast food place and Tink wouldn’t talk till they sat down in a corner booth.
The boy said he knew all about Tink. And he asked him if he had ever had thoughts about being with another man or that he felt trapped within himself. Tink answered yes to both. For three hours they sat and talked and found they were both quite alike. He offered to take Tink to a gay club that following weekend to kind of introduce him to the culture. Tink agreed and dressed in his sharpest clothes that weekend. But things didn’t go as planned at the club. That night three drunken men attacked him and raped him for quite some time. After the incident Tink was so afraid he wouldn’t talk at all for two weeks. When Tink’s father saw his son acting so oddly, he spoke to his job about re-locating to the US. It wasn’t until the plane was in the air that Tink realized he’d been in love with the older boy. And that he had been abandoned by the one he loved. He also about this time began wearing girls clothing instead of boys, since his father was never home during the day to see him. His mother and sisters bought him things to wear, as well. His mother even got him back on female hormones.
When they got back to the US, living in California, Tink began to seek out boyfriends instead of girlfriends when he was twelve. He finally hooked up with a boy named Charlie who soon became his boyfriend. He explained to Charlie how he felt like he was born a boy by mistake. That he was supposed to be a girl, and Charlie accepted him. He eventually got enough nerve to bring Charlie around his home, though they acted just as friends there. His dad would probably beat him senseless if he had any idea his son was gay, since his father was homophobic.
One evening, when Charlie came over and Tink’s father was asleep they snuck upstairs to his room. They laid together on the bed for a while before making out. The worst happened, Tink’s father walked in on them. He blew a gasket and beat Tink until he was black and blue, swearing in both English and Japanese that he would never have a son who was a ‘fag’. Charlie left while the incident happened, though caught Tink’s mother and sisters coming home from a shopping trip. He explained what happened and they rushed home.
Tink’s mother came in to find her son black and blue, curled up and crying in the corner of his bedroom. His mother consoled him as his father continued to rant and rave downstairs. After the night was over, his mother had kicked his father out, was planning on filing for divorce, and had told Tink that he would be protected from now on.
Six months later his parents were divorced and Tink finally felt safe enough to dress and acted as he pleased. At the age of thirteen he took up the nickname ‘Tink’ and began dressing in full on dresses and did his makeup ultra feminine, taking in Lolita fashions.
Shortly after his fourteenth birthday, the Indivuality Reform was put in place and he along with his sister Arisu were immediately carted off to Willowcreek. They have been there just over a year now. Due to his fear of men, he is granted permission to stay in the girls’ ward.
